Hopfers Tree

Oils on Canvas, 2.5” x 4”

Daniel Hopfer was a 14th century painter and illuminator. His work was studied and extrapolated for a period of months for a novel illumination project.

Shortly thereafter, a painting was commisioned to enliven one of his aged compositions. The following was painted in oils as a new composition, bringing color and depth to a 600 year old etching.
